NHW in Spain

Welcome to Neighbourhood Watch In Spain

NHW in Spain moving forward in Costa Blanca

A meeting took place at the La Siesta local police station Torrevieja on Tuesday 27th September where Serafin Castellano, regional 'Minsister' for Police and Security for the Valencian Community met with Eduardo Gil councillor for police Torrevieja, mayor Eduardo Dolon, other police staff and members of the local community to highlight efforts in containing crime in the Valencian region. When asked about Neighbourhood Watch after his presentation Serafin Castellano was positive about our help particularly in that the autonomous police who patrol the Valencia area are very much aware of NHW, details were exchanged and they are interested in working with us alongside the Policía Local and Guardia Civil a further step forward for the safety and security of the Costa Blanca.

Sat Nav Advice

It is well known advice that if you have a Sat Nav in your car that you should take it with you when you park up do not hide it in the vehicle
Most importantly DO NOT PUT YOUR EXACT HOME OR HOLIDAY ADDRESS into the device i.e. house number and road name
for example. If you do happen to have your Sat Nav stolen from your car or person all the thief has to do is switch it on, go to home address, he is guided there and he knows you are not in!    If you are unsure how to get back home, especially if you are renting a property for a holiday, put in an address close by such as a restaurant or the Police Station etc.  Do not programme in someone elses home address for obvious reasons.
